Welcome To The Universal Family Gatherings

A simple, experiential approach to therapist wellbeing.

What if clarity, stability, and ease were not something to achieve… but something already present, waiting to be recognised?

More about The Universal Family

The Universal Family is a simple yet powerful metaphor that offers a fresh way of orientating to experience—one that many have found quietly transformative.

Rather than introducing another complex model or therapeutic system, this approach points to something more immediate and accessible:

  • A natural sense of inner stability (the “parent”)

  • The familiar movements of the thinking mind (the “adolescent”)

  • And the raw, felt experience of the body (the “child”)

Through this lens, common patterns such as anxiety, overthinking, practical problem-solving, and even creativity can be recognised in a new way—without needing to analyse, fix, or change them.

Why Attend a Gathering?

While the essence of the metaphor can be understood quickly, its depth is revealed through direct exploration.

These 90-minute sessions offer:

  • A clear, high-level introduction to the Universal Family metaphor

  • Guided inquiry into how a natural sense of stability is already showing up

  • Exploration of how thought, emotion, and sensation can be met with greater ease

  • Open Q&A with space for real, grounded discussion

This is not training.
There is nothing to learn, adopt, or perform.

Instead, these gatherings provide a space to notice, explore, and deepen your own understanding—in a way that naturally integrates with your existing therapeutic work.

Who Is This For?

These sessions are designed for:

  • Therapists, counsellors, and practitioners

  • Those supporting others who also value their own wellbeing

  • Anyone drawn to a simple, non-prescriptive way of understanding experience

No prior knowledge is required.

A Different Kind of Professional Support

Many therapeutic models work by analysing, structuring, or intervening.

The Universal Family takes a different approach.

It offers a way of seeing—one that can gently support both personal wellbeing and professional presence, without adding complexity.

As a psychotherapist, writer, and educator, I've spent decades integrating non-dual wisdom with social psychology, discovering profound liberation from fear, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs. This journey led me to develop The Universal Family.  The Universal Family is an accessible framework for addressing the root cause of limiting beliefs that block the constructive flow of mental and physical resources from attaining comfortable, balanced nourishment of needs, the healing of psychological wounds, protection from social and environmental toxicity, and resilient, authentic expression of intrinsic life-affirming qualities. The Universal Family is based on insights from non-dualistic wisdom, complemented with a modern neuroscientific approach to psychological health and well-being. The work is framed in an accessible and intuitive metaphor.

  • Wholeness As Parental Adult: The unshakable wholeness and unconditional love that naturally always present.

  • The Mind as Elder: Our thoughts and beliefs, emotionality and metaphorical pattern perception.

  • The Body as Younger: The felt sense of the physical body and its instinctual needs, which is inextricably part of a wider world

This approach has already helped those who have studied it and earned endorsements from leading advisors.  As a psychotherapist, I believe this understanding can help those working in this profession and provide valuable insight into how to deal with many mental health issues and those arising from neurodiversity. Having also worked as a social entrepreneur, I believe this understanding can profoundly help inform a values-led organisation.  Also, even for those who are already familiar with non-dualistic teaching, this approach can provide an additional helpful framework for establishing and maintaining inner peace.
